This year, the Dominican University College Foundation embarked on a new path.We wanted to give ourselves the means to carry out our mission with greater energy, conviction and confidence. We also set new goals and initiated a number of projects that had long been important to us. Last March, we launched the most ambitious fundraising campaign ever announced by our organization to support these projects.
We are very pleased to say that the results so far have exceeded our expectations. Many of you have answered the call and demonstrated your support for the Foundation and the two university centres it has supported and promoted for 34 years.
As we have said in the past, the Foundation doesn’t need charity, it needs investments. Our goal is simple: we want to make the Dominican University College in Ottawa and the Dominican Pastoral Institute in Montréal the best places to study philosophy, theology and pastoral studies in Canada.
We have a proud 800-year heritage of theological and philosophical studies and we remain convinced—today more than ever—that it is vital to offer the best possible conditions to those who choose to study or teach here.
Learning about philosophy and theology means learning to think, to argue, to hone our analytical skills and to tackle social issues with a depth of focus that changes everything.
Supporting us means championing the importance of training the thinkers of tomorrow.
Thank you for your support and encouragement. They are precious and meaningful.
